Dear
Valued
Students
and Guests
We wanted
to let you
know, we
have
always
paid
particular
attention
to the
sanitation
of our
facility.
Even
though
much of
our space
is
"indoor/outdoor",
we have
always
considered
it to be
very
important
to direct
a great
deal of
attention
to
disinfecting
surfaces
we all may
be in
contact
with.
UPDATED
JANUARY 30,
2021
THESE ARE
SOME OF
THE SAFE
PRACTICES
WE
WILL BE
USING
BEFORE,
DURING AND
AFTER
OUR
CLASSES
AND CAMPS.
WE WILL,
*
Restrict
class
sizes to
12 or
fewer
adults or
16 kids.
* Change
work
stations
to provide
safe
distancing
Each
student
has their
own
equipment.
*
We are
not doing any
"group"
cooking.
Each
student
will
have their
own
ingredients
and
touch only
their own
food.
*We have
moved
some classes to
our
Indoor/
Outdoor,
cooled
facility;
Bula Bula
"on the
Beach",
more area
for safe
distancing
We
installed
a camera
on Mardi's
demonstration
table
which
projects
to a 10 ft
screen.
You will
be able to
see.
* Spray to
disinfect
all
surfaces
daily with
an EPA
approved
(for SARS,
N1H1 and
COVID19)
disinfectant.
Air Dry as
NSF
Standards
require
* Teach
and
monitor
proper
hand
washing
Provide
Touch Free
soap
dispensers
* We take
everyone's
temperature
as they
enter
*Require
masks to be
worn
* We will
have
gloves
available
We also
have face
shields if
needed
* Our
staff will
always be
masked and
gloved.
* We will
no longer
be sitting
close together
to eat our
cooking.
Instead we
will
offer "To
Goes" for
you to
take
samples.
* We have
an
environmentally
friendly,
no odor,
composting
restroom
outside
Bula Bula.
It is
cleaned
top to
bottom
and fully
sanitized
before
each
class.
* There is
a hand
washing
station
next to
the john
As we
progress
through
this
difficult
time
and as
more
information
is
available
and things
change, we
will
update
our
procedures
to reflect
the latest
precautions.
July 7.
2020:
We are
half way
through
our 5th
camp week
of
the
summer.
We think
it
couldn't
have gone
much
better!
Parents
are always
invited to
check out
our
facilities.
Several
have been
doctors
and
loved what
we are
doing!
That is a
great vote
of
confidence
for us.
During
2021, as
things
change, we
may adjust
some of
our
procedures.
We will
not relax
any
sanitation
rules but
hopefully
we will be
able to
increase
class
sizes a
little.
As we all
become
more
concerned
regarding
the
coronavirus
(COVID-19),
we want to
assure you
that the
health and
safety of
our guests
and
students
is
our
primary
focus.
Please be
assured we
are taking
the
necessary
precautions
to
ensure a
safe
environment
throughout
our
classes
and entire
property.
We
encourage
often and
thorough
hand
washing
during
classes
and we
provide
gloves for
use when
needed.
We spend
as much
time as is
needed
cleaning
our
property
each day,
and we
have
added
additional
efforts to
our
cleaning
and
sanitizing
procedures.
We
currently
utilize
a
hospital-grade
disinfectant
and have
expanded
the use of
this
disinfectant
throughout
the
property
to include
daily
treatment
of areas
including
restrooms,
food
preparation,
teaching
and eating
areas. We
are also
include
sanitization
efforts in
areas
utilized
by
our team
members,
including
kitchens,
restrooms
and dining
areas.
We
communicate
among our
team
members
regarding
recommended
steps to
take
to reduce
the
likelihood
of
infection.
In doing
that, we
rely on
recommendations
by the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
(CDC) and
other
public
health
experts.
Before
classes we
schedule
staff
member
informational
sessions.
In those
sessions
we will
talk about
those
recommendations
and the
precautionary
steps we
are
taking.
Here are
some
highlights,
these
procedures
will
continue
during and
after this
virus
crisis.
• We have
enhanced
techniques
used to
clean the
workspaces
in which
we conduct
our
classes
• We have
heightened
sanitizing
attention
to common
areas, as
well as
the
doorknobs,
pens and
pencils,
work
surface
and all
the usual
places.
You
will find
hand
washing
sinks and
soap
easily
available.
• We will
provide
sanitary
gloves to
use during
class.
• Even
though
food
generally
does not
carry or
transmit
viruses,
we
will,
as much as
possible
have each
student
only
handle
their own
food.
In
addition,
while we are
taking
steps to
ensure the
welfare of
our
students
and ourselves
we will
always be
adjusting
our
practices
to reflect
what
seems to
be best at
that time.
This
includes:
• If you
are not
feeling
well or an
immediate
family
member is
not
feeling
well,
we ask
that you
stay home
to avoid
passing it
to others
We take
everyone's
temperature
as they
enter
• Keep
your hands
clean and
wash your
hands
properly
(we will
have a
handout)
•
Regularly
wiping
down and
sanitizing
your
workspace
PLEASE
BRING YOUR
OWN WATER
BOTTLE
We
appreciate
your
confidence
in us as
we
navigate
this
situation.
As always
we are
committed
to
providing
a safe and
wholesome
environment
where the
health and
safety
of our
students,
guests and
employees
is
assured.
Sincerely,
Bob and
Mardi
